The release notes describe changes to Storefront for this release, including new features and enhancements. In addition to these changes, Instacart continually updates the platform to improve accessibility, performance, and stability and to ensure the best user experience for your customers.

New features

The following new features are available in this release.

Brand and style

You can customize your storefront brand and style to reflect your company’s brand and provide a consistent user experience. Work with your Instacart representative to submit your assets and configurations for your brand logo, favicon, and colors. For more information, see Brand and style.

Enhancements

The following enhancements are included in this release.

Custom dietary attribute filters

You can enable custom dietary attributes as filters. Your customers can use the custom dietary attribute filters, in addition to the default attribute filters, to browse and search for products. For example, your customers can filter for grass-fed or earth-friendly products. Work with your Instacart representative to configure your custom dietary attributes as filters in the shop experience.

Storefront Pro 5 capabilities

This release includes the following Storefront Pro capabilities:

  • Isolated customer data. When you onboard with Instacart Storefront Pro, your customer data is isolated from Instacart customer data and other retailers' customer data. You own the data and set the policies that define how that data is used. For more information, see Storefront Pro customer data.

  • Retailer single sign-on. Single sign-on enables your customers to securely use the same user credentials to log in to all your surfaces, such as your retailer mobile apps, web app, and retailer corporate website. For more information, see Retailer single sign-on.

  • Log in as a customer. Support teams can help customers with tasks like placing an order or updating customer information. You control who is allowed to log in as a customer, also called user impersonation, through Instacart Platform Portal.

  • Static and dynamic collections. Quickly and easily create collections to promote products or inspire customers to purchase items outside of their regular shopping list.

    • Static collections. Upload a CSV file with a curated list of products.
    • Dynamic collections. Define rules that automatically add products to a collection.

    For more information, see Collections

  • Placements. Add highly visible marketing content throughout your storefront to drive traffic to your promotions and campaigns. Placements include banner carousels, product carousels, global announcements, and rich text containers. You can add placements to your custom homepage and to content pages. For more information, see Placements.

  • Buy it again carousel. Add the Buy it again carousel to your custom homepage. Based on Instacart data, showing the Buy it again experience in prominent areas of your storefront improves customer retention and increases cart sizes. For more information, see Buy it again.
