2024_02_0 Release Notes

The release notes describe changes to Storefront for this release, including new features and enhancements. In addition to these changes, Instacart continually updates the platform to improve accessibility, performance, and stability and to ensure the best user experience for your customers.

New features​

There are no new features that are available for both Storefront and Storefront Pro.

Enhancements​

The following enhancements are available in this release.

Pin and rank products in static collections (Storefront Pro 5)​

You can now pin and rank up to 50 products in a static collection. Pinned products are displayed before non-pinned products and are ordered based on the assigned ranking. For products that are pinned, but not ranked, the order of the pinned products follow the sort option that the customer selected on your storefront.

The following example shows how to pin and rank products using Instacart Platform Portal:

Multi-banner locations​

For multi-banner retailers, you can show the pickup and in-store locations for multiple banners, on both desktop and mobile browsers. For example, when customers view their nearby pickup locations, the map shows pickup locations for multiple banners.

For delivery orders, if the banner doesn’t have any nearby locations offering delivery, customers can select other banners offering delivery instead.

To display pickup and in-store locations for multiple banners, contact your Instacart representative.

Documentation site updates​

In addition to the product-related updates, the following content was also added:

  • Updated the Manage departments topic to mention that you can copy departments from your Instacart Marketplace storefront to your e-commerce sites, or from one e-commerce site to your other e-commerce sites.
  • Added the Click-to-redeem offers topic to the documentation.
