Filter options

Customers can use filter options to narrow the product list to show items that satisfy the filter criteria. Filter options appear on search result pages and product collection pages. For example, the Ice cream & popsicles product collection shows filter options.

The following image shows an example of the filter options:

The following table describes the filters:

Dietary preferences are based on the product tags that you define in your inventory file. You can also configure custom tags (also known as custom attributes), such as grass-fed or earth-friendly. Work with your Instacart representative to configure your custom tags.

Dynamic filters

Filters for departments, brands, and dietary preferences are dynamic to ensure that the storefront shows options that are relevant to the collection or search term. Dynamic filters reduce the chances of customers applying filter combinations that return no results.

For example, if a customer applies a Gluten-free filter while browsing the Cereal collection, the Brand filter group shows only the brands that carry gluten-free cereal.

The On Sale platform filter is also dynamic. If there are no sale items, the On Sale filter does not appear.
