2025_07_0 Release Notes

Release date: July 29, 2025

The release notes describe changes to Storefront for this release, including new features and enhancements. In addition to these changes, Instacart continually updates the platform to improve accessibility, performance, and stability and to ensure the best user experience for your customers.

New features

The following new features are available in this release.

Instacart Platform Portal notifications

Instacart Platform Portal now includes in-app notifications in addition to notification emails to provide better visibility of critical updates for your business. You can view your notifications in the Notifications pane and manage your notification settings. You can also control the delivery method of your notifications (in-app or email) on the Notification settings page.

The following image shows an example of an in-app notification about store hours in Instacart Platform Portal:

Shows a split view of the Store Hours page for "Garden Test" and an open Notifications panel. The panel highlights a notification about store hours being successfully changed.

Notification emails from Instacart Platform Portal also now include an unsubscribe link. When you click an unsubscribe link, you are taken to the relevant notification setting in Instacart Platform Portal, where you can turn the notification off or on.

For more information, see Notifications.

Flyer management in Instacart Platform Portal (Storefront Pro 5)

You can now upload, validate, and manage flyer files independently in Instacart Platform Portal. The Flyers tool provides real-time feedback on file quality and accuracy, enabling faster corrections and reducing delays in publishing flyers, resulting in quicker time-to-market for promotional content.

For more information, see Manage flyers.

Flyer bulk update tool (Storefront Pro 5)

You can now update clickable areas across multiple flyer versions in one action, instead of editing each flyer individually. This feature in Instacart Platform Portal saves time by applying corrections to all relevant flyers instantly, ensuring consistency and simplifying the management of multiple flyer versions.

For more information, see Manage flyers.

Clickable promotion price on product details page

A See eligible items button has been added to product details pages where promotions apply on mobile apps (iOS and Android). Customers can click the new button to open a modal that shows items and rewards that qualify for the promotion. Promotions are easier to find and customers are encouraged to add more items to their carts.

The following image shows a buy one promotion with the See eligible items button:

Unlock device account

If a store associate’s device account gets locked, typically because the maximum number of login attempts has been exceeded, you can now use Instacart Platform Portal to revert its status to active.

For more information, see Unlock device accounts.

Enhancements

The following enhancements are available in this release.

Improved experience for in-store pickup instructions

Improvements to in-store pickup orders ensure accurate pickup instructions and locations are displayed. The update removes curbside-specific user interface elements for in-store pickups, providing customers with clear and relevant information tailored to their chosen pickup method.

You can update in-store pickup instructions in Instacart Platform Portal with the Pickup settings tool.
