2024_12_0 Release Notes

Release date: December 3, 2024

The release notes describe changes to Storefront for this release, including new features and enhancements. In addition to these changes, Instacart continually updates the platform to improve accessibility, performance, and stability and to ensure the best user experience for your customers.

New features​

The following new features are available in this release.

Configure logos (Storefront Pro 5)​

In Instacart Platform Portal, you can now configure logos that display on your storefront. You can upload a site logo that will be used on all your storefront banner sites. Optionally, you can upload a different logo for each banner.

The following image shows the Banner logos tab in the Storefront branding tool:

Enable auto scroll on secondary banner carousels (Storefront Pro 5)​

In Instacart Platform Portal, you can now enable secondary banner carousels to scroll automatically through the banners in the carousel. When you add more than one banner card to a secondary banner carousel in a static slot, the Enable auto scroll option appears. For secondary banner carousels in dynamic slots, the Enable auto scroll option appears when you name the slot. You can add up to six banners to a secondary banner carousel. Previously, only primary banner carousels could scroll automatically.

When the auto scroll option is enabled, the secondary banner carousel appears with a pause button that customers can use to pause the auto scroll.

Enhancements​

The following enhancements are available in this release.

Enhancements to Account menu​

Implemented the following changes to the Account menu:

  • Removed the Permissions section on the Notification settings page
  • Removed the Marketing updates section on the Notification settings page
  • Removed the Push notifications option in the Order Updates section on the Notification settings page
  • Fixed issue where Instacart+ accounts were not displaying properly
  • Renamed the Credits, Promos and Gift Cards page to “Credits and Promotions”
  • Removed gift cards from the Credits and Promotions page

To configure the Notification settings options that are available to your customers, contact your Instacart representative.

Read-only new navigation tools (Storefront Pro 5)​

Instacart is in the process of migrating storefronts to use new Navigation tools in Instacart Platform Portal and more capabilities will be added in following releases. The following tools are available as read-only in this release:

  • Desktop web header navigation
  • Desktop web header style
  • Native app header style

To view the read-only tools in Instacart Platform Portal, select Merchandising > Navigation (NEW).
