Test your fulfillment workflows in a development environment to verify the workflows before moving to a production environment. You can test fulfillment workflows by simulating order status changes. Use the Sandbox API or the Fulfillment Testing Center to test workflows.

Sandbox API

Use the Sandbox API to make API requests to test fulfillment workflows. First, you use the Fulfillment API to create an order for delivery, pickup, or last mile delivery. Then, you use the Sandbox API to simulate order status changes and callbacks. For more information, see Instacart Connect Sandbox API.

Fulfillment Testing Center

The Fulfillment Testing Center is a self-service fulfillment testing tool with a simple user interface for you to test fulfillment workflows. You can simulate fulfillment workflows using orders from a development environment of Connect or Storefront Pro. The Fulfillment Testing Center simulates order status changes and callbacks in the same way as the Sandbox API, except through a graphical user interface.
