Product details page
Product details pages (PDPs) are the primary container for product information displayed to customers on the Instacart Enterprise Platform, designed to showcase individual products consistently and effectively. PDPs provide the information customers need to make informed purchasing decisions.
Each product details page includes the following:
- Product information. Brand, product title, size, description, images, pricing, nutrition info, and more.
- Promotional information. Retailer-specific dollar-value and percentage discounts, special delivery offers, and other incentives.
Content on product details pages follows Instacart's guidelines for images and other elements to ensure consistency and quality across the platform. For more information, see Product attribute guidelines.
Generic product pages
Instacart also serves product pages that aren't tied to a specific retailer. These generic product pages—sometimes referred to as GPPs—are landing pages that customers typically reach through web search results rather than through the Instacart platform directly. Because they operate at the universal catalog level, they don't follow the same content rules as retailer-specific PDPs. Rather than using your preferred CSP settings, generic product pages source images from nearby retailers based on the customer's location or IP address, or from the universal catalog. As a result, the content on a generic product page may not reflect what you've configured for a specific retailer.
You can identify a generic product page by its URL—generic product pages do not include a retailer name, while PDP URLs always do.
