Product content guidelines
As an advertising partner, you can control how product information—including images, description, size, and other details—is displayed to customers across Instacart Marketplace and retailer storefronts. Use these resources to understand how Instacart handles product content and how you can manage content to ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
What you need to know about managing content
This documentation covers the following key concepts and guidelines for submitting and managing product content on Instacart:
- How product content is sourced and prioritized. Instacart receives product data from multiple sources—retailers, CSPs, and advertising partners—and applies prioritization logic to determine what appears on storefronts.
- How to submit and update content. You can submit content through a CSP, or if you are an advertising partner, manage it directly using the product library in Ads Manager.
- Attribute formatting requirements. Each product attribute—including brand name, product title, and images—has specific formatting requirements that content must meet to be accepted and displayed correctly.
- How to troubleshoot display issues. When content isn't appearing as expected, a small set of common causes covers most situations.
