Measuring promotion group performance

This feature is available to retailers only.

Beta refers to pre-release features or products that are under active development and available for users to try out.

Ads Manager provides real-time performance reporting for each of your promotion groups. Use reporting to understand how your promotions are performing, how spend is tracking against your budget, and whether your promotions are driving customer behavior.

Accessing performance data

  1. From the Ads Manager dashboard, click Library in the left navigation and select Promotions.

  2. Click the name of the promotion you want to review.

  3. The promotion detail page shows your key metrics and a performance chart over time.

Use the date range selector at the top right to filter the reporting window.

Key metrics

MetricDefinitionExample
SpendThe total savings amount extended to customers for all delivered orders where your promotion was redeemed. Spend equals the savings amount per redemption only.1,000 redemptions × $10 savings amount = $10,000 spend
Promotion salesThe total sales across all delivered orders where the promotion was applied. Based on final delivered amounts (not the initial order value).1,000 orders × $60 average order value = $60,000 promotion sales
Redemptions usedThe total number of times a customer successfully applied your promotion at checkout and the order was delivered.1,000 redemptions used
Estimated redemptions allowedEstimated number of times your promotion can be redeemed, based on your total budget and current promotion details. This number can fluctuate as product pricing or budget pacing changes.A $5,000 total budget with a $10 savings amount = ~500 estimated redemptions allowed
note

Promotion sales are calculated on final delivered amounts — meaning substitutions and removed items are factored in. Spend is updated daily. You may see a 24–48 hour delay in spend and redemption data appearing in reporting.

Performance chart

The performance chart on the promotion detail page shows Spend, Redemptions, and Promotion sales over time. You can toggle each metric on or off. Use this chart to:

  • Spot day-over-day trends in redemption volume
  • Identify any unexpected spikes or drops in performance
  • Track how spend is pacing against your total budget over the campaign period

Exporting data

To export your promotion performance data as a CSV file:

  1. Navigate to the promotion detail page.

  2. Click Export in the top-right corner of the reporting view.

  3. The CSV includes all available metrics for the selected date range.

tip

You can also export a summary of all promotions from the main Promotion groups page by clicking Export at the top of the page. This gives you a row-per-promotion view with aggregate metrics.

How to interpret your results

If you see...Consider...
Low redemptions relative to your store's order volumeThe minimum amount may be too high for typical basket sizes. Consider lowering the minimum amount or increasing the savings amount to make the offer more attractive.
Spend hitting budget quicklyYour promotion may be more popular than expected. Consider increasing the total budget to extend the promotion's run, or setting an end date to control the window.
High average order value during promotion periodCustomers are responding to the minimum spend incentive by adding more to their cart. Consider testing with a slightly higher minimum amount to drive even larger baskets.
Low promotion sales relative to redemptionsOrders are qualifying for the promotion but basket sizes are near the minimum. Your discount may be driving qualifying behavior without meaningfully growing basket size.
